What is Thermage FLX?

The single most effective treatment for true skin tightening.

Thermage FLX is the fourth-generation flagship from Solta Medical (the original creator of the Thermage platform). Using monopolar radiofrequency at controlled depth (3–4.3mm), it heats collagen fibers throughout the entire treated layer — causing immediate contraction and triggering long-term collagen rebuilding. The new AccuREP technology automatically calibrates energy delivery based on skin impedance for unprecedented safety and consistency. Pricing from ₩890,000 (Eye Thermage 225 shots) to ₩2,690,000 (Face 900 shots).

How it works

The science ,
simplified.

Understanding the mechanism helps you set realistic expectations and compare with alternatives.

01

Bulk heating, not focal heating

Unlike HIFU (which heats microscopic spots), Thermage heats large columns of tissue uniformly. This produces full-thickness collagen contraction — a 'shrink-wrap' effect across the entire treated area.

02

Controlled radiofrequency delivery

Each Thermage tip emits monopolar RF energy. The 4th-gen FLX has rotating tip technology, vibration cooling, and AccuREP smart energy that adjusts to your skin impedance in real-time.

03

Immediate collagen contraction

Existing collagen fibers contract immediately when heated to 60–70°C. You'll see and feel some tightening as you leave the clinic — this is the 'instant' Thermage effect.

04

Long-term collagen rebuilding

Heated collagen also triggers fibroblast activity. New collagen forms over 3–6 months, with continued improvement up to 1 year. Final result lasts 12–24 months — among the longest-lasting non-surgical treatments.

  • Loose skin needing tightening more than lifting
  • Patients with thicker skin (responds well to RF)
  • Post-weight-loss skin laxity
  • Eye area concerns (crow's feet, eyelid laxity)
  • Combination with HIFU for comprehensive rejuvenation

Not ideal for

  • Severe skin laxity (surgery may be more effective)
  • Pregnancy or breastfeeding

Frequently asked

Thermage FLX
questions.

How much does Thermage FLX cost in Busan?
At JRYN Seomyeon, Thermage FLX pricing (using authentic Solta tips): 300 shots ₩1,200,000, 600 shots ₩1,790,000, 900 shots ₩2,690,000, Eye Thermage 225 shots ₩890,000. Most patients choose 600 shots for full-face standard treatment.
Thermage vs Ultherapy — which is better?
Different goals. Thermage = TIGHTENING (skin shrink-wrap effect across all layers). Ultherapy = LIFTING (deep SMAS muscle layer). Most aging patients benefit from BOTH: Ultherapy for jawline lifting + Thermage for skin smoothing. Many patients alternate them yearly.
How long does Thermage last?
Results last 12–24 months — among the longest of any non-surgical treatment. The 4th-generation FLX has even better longevity than older Thermage models. Most patients repeat every 18 months for maintenance.
Is Thermage painful?
Less painful than older Thermage versions. The FLX has vibration cooling that significantly reduces pain. We apply numbing cream and use cooling gel during treatment. Most patients rate pain 3–4/10 — uncomfortable but tolerable. Optional sleep sedation available (+₩200,000).
How many sessions do I need?
Just ONE session per year (or every 1–2 years). Unlike facials or laser series, Thermage is designed as a single comprehensive treatment. Splitting into multiple smaller sessions is NOT recommended — it dilutes the collagen contraction effect.
When will I see Thermage results?
Initial tightening visible same day (immediate collagen contraction). Visible improvement over 4–6 weeks as new collagen forms. Peak result at 3–6 months. Effect maintains for 12–24 months.
Can I combine Thermage with Ultherapy?
Yes — this is one of our most popular premium combinations at JRYN. Typically: Ultherapy first for SMAS lifting, then Thermage 4 weeks later for skin tightening. Total cost: ₩2,000,000–₩4,500,000 depending on shots. Results are dramatically better than either alone.
Is Eye Thermage worth it?
Yes — particularly effective. The eye area shows aging fastest, but is most responsive to focused RF. Eye Thermage tightens upper and lower eyelids, smooths crow's feet, and improves under-eye texture. Many patients find it's the single most impactful eye treatment available.
Is there downtime after Thermage?
Zero downtime. Mild redness lasts 1–4 hours, slight swelling possible for 24 hours, but you can apply makeup after a few hours, return to work the same day, and exercise the next day. Avoid saunas/hot yoga for 48 hours.
Do you offer English-speaking consultations for Thermage?
Yes. JRYN Seomyeon offers consultations in English, Japanese, Chinese, and Korean. Thermage is a premium investment — we encourage 30-minute consultation to discuss your skin concerns, expectations, and whether Thermage alone, Ultherapy, or combination is right for you.
