The newer
ultrasound lifting,
comfortably engineered.
Sofwave is a newer-generation ultrasound device using synchronous parallel beam technology. Unlike traditional HIFU's focal points, Sofwave heats a continuous strip of mid-dermis tissue — producing comfortable, even tightening with minimal discomfort.
At a glance.
All the lifting, with significantly less of the pinch.
Sofwave uses Synchronous Ultrasound Parallel Beam (SUPERB™) technology to deliver ultrasound energy in a continuous strip pattern at mid-dermis depth (1.5mm). This differs from traditional HIFU (Ultherapy/Shurink) which uses focal point heating at deeper SMAS depth. The result: comparable lifting effect with significantly improved comfort during treatment. Sofwave is FDA-cleared for facial and submental lifting. JRYN pricing: ₩900,000 (100 shots) to ₩2,100,000 (300 shots).
The science
,
simplified.
Understanding the mechanism helps you set realistic expectations and compare with alternatives.
SUPERB™ parallel beam technology
Instead of single focal points, Sofwave uses 7 ultrasonic transducers that deliver synchronous parallel ultrasound beams — heating a 'rectangle' of tissue uniformly at the precise mid-dermis depth (1.5mm).
Mid-dermis collagen targeting
Energy is concentrated in the mid-dermis where collagen and elastin are most abundant. Heating to 60–70°C contracts existing fibers and stimulates new collagen production over 8–12 weeks.
Built-in cooling for comfort
Sofwave's tip has integrated cooling that protects the skin surface during treatment. This makes Sofwave significantly more comfortable than traditional HIFU — patients report 3–4/10 pain vs Ultherapy's 5–7/10.
Visible improvement over months
Initial mild tightening at 2 weeks. Progressive improvement at 4–8 weeks. Peak result at 3 months. Effect lasts 12–18 months — comparable to Ultherapy duration.
