What is Laser Mole Removal?

Out, in fifteen minutes.

Laser mole removal uses ablative or pigmented laser energy to vaporize unwanted moles, beauty marks, or benign skin lesions in minutes. At JRYN Seomyeon, we choose between three platforms based on mole characteristics: CO2 laser (most versatile, ablates raised moles in single session), Avio Q-switched (targets pigmented flat moles selectively), Fotona Erbium (delicate areas like eyelids, lips). All moles are clinically evaluated first — suspicious lesions get biopsy referral, not laser, ensuring clinical safety. Most cosmetic moles are removed in 5–15 minutes per lesion.

How it works

The science ,
simplified.

Understanding the mechanism helps you set realistic expectations and choose the right brand for your goals.

01

Mole assessment

Dr. Lee examines each mole with dermoscopy. Suspicious moles (asymmetry, irregular borders, color variation) are referred for biopsy before any cosmetic removal.

02

Topical numbing

Numbing cream is applied for 15 minutes before treatment. Most fillers also contain lidocaine, so injection discomfort is minimal.

03

Laser ablation

CO2 laser for raised moles, Avio Q-switched for flat pigmented moles, Fotona Erbium for delicate facial moles. Each laser is matched to mole type and location.

04

Instant result, 2-week settling

Results are visible immediately. Minor swelling and firmness resolves over 1–2 weeks, revealing the final natural-looking contour. Effect lasts 12–18 months.

  • No makeup on treated area for 7 days
  • Pink scar fades over 2–3 months

Frequently asked

Mole Removal
questions.

How much does laser mole removal cost in Busan?
At JRYN Seomyeon: Small mole (under 3mm) ₩50,000, medium ₩80,000, large ₩150,000+. Multi-mole packages available — 5 moles ₩200,000, 10 moles ₩350,000.
Will the mole come back?
Recurrence rate is 3–5% — usually moles that were deep. We can re-treat at no additional charge within 6 months. Deep dermal moles may need a second session for complete removal.
Will there be a scar?
Most moles heal with minimal or no scar — especially small flat ones. Larger or deeper moles may leave a slightly lighter or pinker spot. Atrophic scars are rare with laser (vs. surgical excision).
Is laser mole removal safe?
Yes — but suspicious moles must be biopsied first. JRYN protocol: any mole with asymmetry, color variation, or recent change gets biopsy referral before any cosmetic treatment.
Can you remove moles in one visit?
Yes for most cases. Multiple small moles can be removed in 30–45 minutes. Larger or deeper moles may need a second session 1 month later for complete clearance.
What about facial moles near the eye?
Eyelid moles require careful technique with Fotona Erbium or surgical excision. We don't treat moles within 5mm of the eyelash margin in a single session — staged approach is safer.
How long is the healing process?
Days 1–3: dressed wound. Days 3–7: scab formation. Days 7–10: scab falls off. Weeks 2–8: pink mark fades. Months 3–6: final result. Sun protection critical throughout.
Can I work or socialize after mole removal?
Yes. Small bandages or none at all. Most patients return to work the same day. We recommend covering with mineral makeup after day 7 for social events.
What's the difference between laser and surgical excision?
Laser: no stitches, faster healing, slightly higher recurrence rate, less scarring for small moles. Surgical: stitches, longer healing, lower recurrence, better for large/suspicious lesions.
Do you offer English-speaking consultations for mole removal?
Yes. Send close-up photos in natural lighting (and a wider photo for context) via WhatsApp or LINE. Dr. Lee will assess removability and provide pricing.
