What is Under-Eye Filler?

A treatment that takes ten years off in twenty minutes.

Under-eye filler(tear trough filler) uses specialized Eyelight hyaluronic acid filler to correct the hollow shadow between the lower eyelid and cheek — the primary cause of 'tired eyes' and dark circles. At JRYN Seomyeon, we use blunt cannula technique exclusively in this area for maximum safety. Eyelight is engineered specifically for thin under-eye skin: lower cross-linking, finer particle size, and anti-Tyndall (no bluish tint) formulation. Pricing: ₩290,000 (0.5cc) or ₩500,000 (1cc).

Tear Trough.

How it works

The science ,
simplified.

Understanding the mechanism helps you set realistic expectations and choose the right brand for your goals.

01

Assessing the shadow

Dr. Lee identifies whether your dark circles are from volume loss (tear trough hollow), pigmentation, thin skin showing vessels, or combination. Only volume-loss circles benefit from filler; others need different treatments.

02

Topical numbing

Strong numbing cream is applied for 20 minutes. Eyelight contains lidocaine, and the cannula technique causes minimal additional pain.

03

Cannula injection

A single entry point is made on each side (near the outer lower lash line). A blunt-tip cannula is threaded under the skin to deposit filler deep in the tear trough on the periosteum (bone surface).

04

Gentle molding

Dr. Lee gently molds the deposited filler for smooth, even correction. The entire injection takes 5–10 minutes. You'll see immediate improvement, with final results at 1–2 weeks.

Treatment areas

Where we inject ,
and why.

Each area has its own anatomical target, typical volume, and result timeline. Dr. Lee will recommend a personalized plan during consultation.

Area Concern Treated Typical Volume Results In
Tear Trough (Medial) Inner under-eye hollow creating dark shadow 0.2–0.4cc per side Immediate
Lid-Cheek Junction Visible groove separating eye from cheek 0.2–0.3cc per side Immediate
Outer Hollows (Palpebromalar) Sunken area under outer corner of eye 0.1–0.2cc per side Immediate

Recovery & safety

What happens after.

We believe in informed patients. Here's what to expect after treatment, and the full safety profile.

After your treatment

  • Sleep on your back with head elevated for 3 nights
  • Avoid rubbing, pressing, or massaging the area for 2 weeks
  • Skip makeup on under-eye for 12 hours

Frequently asked

Under-Eye Filler
questions.

How much does under-eye filler cost in Busan?
At JRYN Seomyeon, specialized Eyelight under-eye filler: 0.5cc ₩290,000, 1cc ₩500,000. 0.5cc typically covers both tear troughs for mild hollows. 1cc is needed for deeper hollows or combined tear trough + lid-cheek junction correction. Prices include topical numbing and ice therapy.
Is under-eye filler safe?
Yes, when performed with proper technique by an experienced dermatologist. The under-eye area has many blood vessels, so we use cannula-only injection (blunt-tip, not sharp needle) to nearly eliminate vascular risk. At JRYN, we've performed 1,000+ under-eye filler treatments with zero serious complications.
How long does under-eye filler last?
Eyelight under-eye filler lasts 9–12 months, slightly shorter than other facial fillers due to the constant muscle movement of the lower eyelid. Many patients do annual maintenance.
Will I have bruising after under-eye filler?
Bruising is the most common side effect (30-50% of patients). It typically lasts 3–7 days and can be covered with makeup after 12 hours. We recommend scheduling treatment 1–2 weeks before important events. Avoiding blood thinners (aspirin, ibuprofen, fish oil) for 3 days before reduces bruising risk.
Can under-eye filler fix dark circles?
Only if your dark circles are caused by HOLLOW tear troughs (shadow effect). If dark circles are from pigmentation (brownish color), filler won't help — you need Pico laser or lightening creams. If they're from thin skin showing veins (bluish), different approach is needed. Our consultation identifies the exact cause.
What is 'Eyelight' filler?
Eyelight is a Korean-made HA filler specifically engineered for the under-eye area. It has: (1) smaller particle size for smoother placement, (2) anti-Tyndall formula to prevent bluish tint, (3) lower G-prime for natural look, and (4) hydrophilic properties that brighten the area. It's the most-used under-eye filler in Korean dermatology.
Can under-eye filler be dissolved if I don't like it?
Yes. Hyaluronidase injection dissolves the filler within 24–48 hours. This is a major safety advantage and a reason we use HA fillers exclusively in this delicate area. You're never 'stuck' with a result you don't like.
Is under-eye filler painful?
Minimal. We apply strong topical numbing for 20 minutes. Eyelight contains lidocaine. Cannula technique (blunt tip, no cutting) is less painful than needles. Most patients rate pain 2–3 out of 10 — similar to other facial fillers.
How young/old can I get under-eye filler?
Most patients are between 25 and 55. Younger patients (20s) usually have genetic tear trough hollows. Older patients (40s+) develop hollows from bone remodeling and volume loss. We don't treat patients under 22 unless significant genetic hollows are present.
Do you offer English-speaking consultations for under-eye filler?
Yes. JRYN Seomyeon offers consultations in English, Japanese, and Chinese. Under-eye filler is a technically demanding procedure that requires careful pre-treatment discussion about goals, expectations, and bruising risks. We encourage a 15–30 minute consultation before same-day treatment.
